S5 knowledge without partitions
نویسنده
چکیده
We study set algebras with an operator (SAO) that satisfies the axioms of S5 knowledge. A necessary and sufficient condition is given for such SAOs that the knowledge operator is defined by a partition of the state space. SAOs are constructed for which the condition fails to hold. We conclude that no logic singles out the partitional SAOs among all SAOs.

Wised Semi-Supervised Cluster Ensemble Selection: A New Framework for Selecting and Combing Multiple Partitions Based on Prior knowledge
The Wisdom of Crowds, an innovative theory described in social science, claims that the aggregate decisions made by a group will often be better than those of its individual members if the four fundamental criteria of this theory are satisfied. This theory used for in clustering problems. Previous researches showed that this theory can significantly increase the stability and performance of...
متن کاملEveryone Knows That Someone Knows: Quantifiers over Epistemic Agents
Modal logic S5 is commonly viewed as an epistemic logic that captures the most basic properties of knowledge. Kripke proved a completeness theorem for the firstorder modal logic S5 with respect to a possible worlds semantics. A multiagent version of the propositional S5 as well as a version of the propositional S5 that describes properties of distributed knowledge in multiagent systems has also...
متن کاملKnowledge Compilation in the Modal Logic S5
In this paper, we study the knowledge compilation task for propositional epistemic logic S5. We first extend many of the queries and transformations considered in the classical knowledge compilation map to S5. We then show that the notion of disjunctive normal form (DNF) can be profitably extended to the epistemic case; we prove that the DNF fragment of S5, when appropriately defined, satisfies...

Background: Models of codon evolution have proven useful for investigating the strength and direction of natural selection. In some cases, a priori biological knowledge has been used successfully to model heterogeneous evolutionary dynamics among codon sites. These are called fixed-effect models, and they require that all codon sites are assigned to one of several partitions which are permitted...
متن کاملRepresenting Imperfect Information of Procedures with Hyper Models
When reasoning about knowledge of procedures under imperfect information, the explicit representation of epistemic possibilities blows up the S5-like models of standard epistemic logic. To overcome this drawback, in this paper, we propose a new logical framework based on compact models without epistemic accessibility relations for reasoning about knowledge of procedures. Inspired by the 3-value...
